On Saturday, June 2nd, we held our annual Graduation Celebration at Georgia State University. Each year, we gather to honor the achievements of our senior Little Brothers and Sisters who are graduating from high school. While this is the formal end of their time in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, the relationship that has been formed in this one-to-one mentoring relationship never truly ends. And we can't forget about our amazing Bigs, who officially become Alumni Bigs!
Board member Tim Wilkerson welcomed our Masters of Ceremonies, Big Sister Bianca and Little Sister Alexis. Little Brother Tayvion gave the Invocation. During lunch, Little Sister Javanna sang and received a standing ovation. We were ecstatic to have Rodney Bullard, Vice President of Community Affairs at Chick-fil-A, as our Keynote Speaker. Several matches shared their stories and made the audience tear up quite a few times. Kwame Johnson, our President and CEO, awarded Little Brother Jonathan and Little Sister Katy each a $1,000 scholarship from Fifth Third Bank.
