5 Virtual Activities for Matches

By Amari Woods

Are you looking for fresh ways to connect with your Little? Due to the current pandemic, our Bigs have replaced face-to-face interactions with virtual meetings. Although this is the safest option, we recognize that it can be challenging to make a connection from a distance.

In order to support these virtual meetings, we have compiled a list of five entertaining activities for Bigs and Littles to enjoy online.

  1. Karaoke

Who doesn’t love a good sing along? Don’t be afraid to belt out your favorite tunes with virtual karaoke. Singing can be a great way to not only break the ice with your

Little but also relieve stress during quarantine. Consider this energetic activity on your next Zoom call. Click here to find out how to host karaoke online!

2. Pictionary

Liven up your call with an exciting game of Pictionary! All you need is paper and something to write with. On one sheet of paper, draw a picture. Then, show it to your opponent. If your opponent guesses the picture correctly, then a point is rewarded. Don’t forget to set rules for how the game will be played (i.e. no symbols).

3. Puzzles

For decades, people have enjoyed piecing together jigsaw puzzles. With many being stuck at home, completing a puzzle seems like an idealistic activity. Typically, puzzles are available in store, but now anyone can play from anywhere virtually. If you and your Little are trying to pass the time, then jigsaw puzzles may be a great option.

4. Snowman

You probably haven’t played this game like this since you were a kid, but it’s still relevant. With the Zoom whiteboard feature, you and your Little can play online. In order to play, one person must use the whiteboard to draw a series of dashes where a particular phrase should be. Then you draw the Snowman. The next person must guess the letters until all the blanks are filled. Every wrong letter given will result in part of the Snowman being erased. If the Snowman “melts” before the phrase, then you lose.

5. Trivia

It doesn’t get any better than a classic game of trivia. Test your knowledge on a variety of subjects with a few rounds of Q&A. Trivia is a fun way to bond and learn with your Little. This game can be played using a random trivia generator  or any other trivia site. Just make sure to share your screen!
