Alicia Smith, VP of Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters Vice President of Development

Alicia N. Smith serves as the Vice President of Development at Big Brothers Big Sister of Metro Atlanta (BBBS) where she is responsible for managing the agency's portfolio of donors and for the oversight of all fundraising programs and events.  Prior to joining the agency in January 2010, Alicia served as the Director of Development for the University of South Carolina where she assisted with the management of a $75 million capital campaign.  She has also held development positions at Claflin University, the United Negro College Fund and the Northern Virginia Urban League.  Building strategic philanthropic relationships and partnerships has been the focus of Alicia's career.

Because of her dedication to community service, philanthropy and non-profit management, Alicia has served on several boards and steering committees including the Ronald McDonald House and the American Heart Association.  She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and a 2009 graduate of Leadership South Carolina

Alicia is a native of Charlottesville, VA.  She holds a Bachelor's of Science from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master's from George Mason University.  In July 2007, she was certified as a fundraising professional by CFRE International.
