STEPHANIE & ARTHUR BLANK TO BE HONORED AT
THE 14TH ANNUAL LEGACY AWARDS
ATLANTA– Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBS) is proud to announce that the 14th Annual Legacy Awards will honor well-known community leaders and philanthropists Stephanie and Arthur Blank. The Legacy Awards recognizes dynamic leaders who have made a significant contribution to our community while employing the powerful philosophy of mentoring. The 14th Annual Legacy Awards is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2008 at The Georgia Aquarium. Carol and Paul Garcia, CEO, Global Payments Inc. will co-chair this year's black-tie event. NFL legend Lynn Swann will once again perform as the event’s master of ceremonies.
Arthur Blank is a co-founder of Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement retailer, and owner of the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia Force football teams. The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation was formed in 1995 and is focused on enhancing education, preserving greenspace, sustaining the arts and sparking collaboration among its community partners. Stephanie Blank is an accomplished interior designer and community volunteer. She is a trustee with the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and serves on a number of charitable boards for such organizations as the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation Board, the Atlanta Falcons Women’s Association, and the Atlanta Symphony Center. Through their generosity, the Blanks have given over $250 million to various charitable organizations including the mentoring programs of BBBS.
